A DOSE OF NATURE (20 min)
This sound bath has been created as a sleepy wind-down or a restorative pause in the middle of a busy day. It’s inspired by our innate need for nature - and its remarkable capacity to regulate and restore us.
For those days when you’re travelling or completely chock-a-block, barely seeing the sky, touching the ground or smelling the earth, it’s easy to feel a little discombobulated and out of sync. This sound bath is my gentle remedial offering.
There’s growing scientific evidence that the brain responds to imagined environments in ways that closely mirror real ones. Studies in neuroscience and psychophysiology show that vividly recalling or imagining natural settings can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, lower stress markers like cortisol, and shift heart rate variability towards a calmer state. In other words, when you mentally immerse yourself in remembered sensations of being outdoors - birdsong, wind, spaciousness - the body can register those cues as real, allowing you to quite literally “upload” some of nature’s calming benefits, even when you can’t physically step outside.
As someone who really struggles when I don’t get outside into the big wide world this is something I’ve created to help me too.
