Introducing the East by West Thumb Drum AKA kalimba AKA thumb piano. Inspired by the Mbira, a traditional North African instrument, this easy-to-play wooden percussion instrument features metal keys tuned to different notes which sound when played. The East by West Thumb Drum is made from a hollow mahogany case for its beautiful resonance and rich tone, and features 10 keys known as “tines.” It is tuned to a C major, with each of the metal keys labelled with their corresponding note. They can be fine-tuned with the enclosed metal hammer.
