EARTH DAY BREAKFAST WITH WARDROBE ICONS
To celebrate my cover with Wardrobe Icons and this week’s Earth Day, I hosted a breakfast for 25 guests at Orasay, Jackson Boxer’s new restaurant in Notting Hill. The menu was a seasonal twist on some of the most-loved East by West recipes — perfect for spring! Plus all the produce was sourced from local and ethical suppliers to honour our nature and the nature around us.
To drink, guests were invited to choose between my signature Golden Milk, Masala Chai, Tulsi Tea or Fresh Rosemary Tea (both in East by West page 243-44). Then we had a family-style sharing meal with lots of yummy dishes: Hot Carrot Cake Smoothie (page 42), Homemade Ricotta (page 255) With Raw Honey and Orange Zest, Akuri Scrambled Eggs, Olive Oil Mung Bean and Rosemary Toast, Toasted Buckwheat Banana Bread and Sweet Cashew Raisin & Cinnamon Uttapams (page 71) With Spiced Rhubarb Cream (a seasonal twist on my apricot tahini page 96).
It certainly wasn’t a typical breakfast, but my guests absolutely loved it and enjoyed the delicate spices, the wholesome alternatives to a run-of-the mill breakfast spread! Everyone really took the time to be mindful of the flavours, and it was such a lovely experience. And did I mention everyone got to take home a Tongue Tingler?
