CHANGE WITH THE WEATHER

Anyone else struggling with what to wear in this weather? We were teased with rays of summer sun, and then dived back into our winter coats. The only constant is the boots — working as well with summer dresses as they do with multi-layers. A pair of barely there ankle boots, which look equally good with a scrunched or smooth sock line for the chillier days, is a versatile fashion essential. Keeping them classic yet stylish means it also works dressed up or down, and when they’re good quality and well cared for they only get better with age. These R.M. Williams boots have seen me through this temperamental season beautifully so far, paired for the mid season with a flowy, simple white dress from Christy Dawn — a new favourite brand of mine, thanks to its admirable commitment to taking sustainability even further. A softer style denim jacket is a must for the slightest chill in the air, accessorised with a delicate hand mudra pendant to change up the chunky jewellery I’ve been favouring, and a Lego-coloured leather bag from Irish label My Name Is Ted — proof that you can have fun with your outfits even when the weather changes every five minutes.

CHRISTY DAWN

Christy Dawn goes beyond sustainability and aims to bring regenerative practices throughout its production process to further “honor Mother Earth.” They repurpose fabrics, use planet-friendly materials, focus on quality so you can keep their clothes forever, and are committed to the “farm-to-closet” concept. They work with a regenerative cotton farm and a local supply chain in India to protect and regenerate the planet and its people. Their clothes are dreamy, feminine, patterned dresses, jumpsuits, jumpers and more.

R.M. WILLIAMS

R.M. Williams began in the 1930s with a sturdy leather boot designed to withstand the rugged Australian outback and has evolved into something of an iconic fashion brand, now also carrying other leather accessories as well as non-leather clothing. Each item is traditionally crafted to bring you the highest quality.

DAMSON MADDER

Damson Madder is such a great addition to the sustainable market, for those who want to shop better but have a smaller budget. Their more affordable clothes (they’re still not quite high street prices, because eco-conscious practices simply cost more) are created with the overall goal of minimising the brand’s impact on the environment. Their materials are ethically sourced and often reused or recycled, and they work closely with NGOs to ensure sustainable and ethical practices throughout their supply chain. Their clothes are incredibly colourful and fun — a most welcome addition to your spring wardrobe.

MY NAME IS TED

A brand with a beautiful story. The Irish label’s name and spirit were inspired by the founder’s grandfather, Ted Carbery, who lost the use of his right hand side after suffering an aneurysm, and made leather bags and accessories using his left hand and mouth — even though he had previously been right-handed. My Name Is Ted makes unique leather bags and accessories using authentic, luxurious and durable materials.

SOPHIE THEAKSTON

Sophie Theakston’s soft, romantic jewellery is designed in London and made in Rajasthan, inspired by ancient and religious symbolism from around the world. They prioritise ethical and sustainable practices throughout their supply chain, using 18kt gold and gemstones from fully traceable and ethically mined sources, all bought in India.
